Ah August, the month of my adventures. It was a summer packed full of going places and experiencing new and amazing things. I feel like breaking out into song with… ‘Tell everybody I’m on my way, new friends and new places to see. With blue skies ahead yes I’m on my way and there’s no where else that I’d rather be!’
Yes this was the month where I flew for the second time in a Grob Tutor and tried new aerobatics (this was more enjoyable than my first time, despite my instructor asking me if I wanted to try a manoeuvre by myself…) I was on camp at RAF Cosford with the air cadets and I had an amazing time. Again, some of my favourite snaps here are only from my iPod but they are some of my favourite because of the people I spent my week with. I met some amazing friends and made awesome memories with my already very close friends.
When I came back from Shropshire and what would be my last EVER camp with cadets (I cry), which made my memories even more special, it was time for the main attraction of August… MY family holiday in the caravan (for the last EVER time in that caravan) down to Pembrokeshire in Wales. We spent the week on never-ending coastal walks with breath-taking views. An amazingly long wander along the cliffs near Stackpole and an exploration of the beautiful Aberglasney gardens in Carmarthen and it was a highly enjoyable week (except for when I got food poisoning from Scampi in Tenby).
We walked with wild horses near St Davids and chased the tides and yet after all of this, it was the end of our week in Wales and we were off on an 8 hour car journey, with two food-poisoned teenagers (my brother and I), to West Sussex for my cousin’s wedding. This was, again, an enjoyable weekend because I got to see a lot of my family. Memorable moments, which my uncle has just this minute reminded me of, have to be when my Uncle Gerry dried my toe nails with a hair drier- because it was almost time to leave- and also being scared by the cows blocking the path in the valley along the South Downs Way. The wedding was wonderful and I have a plentiful supply of beautiful photos from this event.
I hope you enjoy August’s snaps as much as I enjoyed August itself. There are a lot so without further ado….
